Sipp provider James Hay has announced Iain Tait will join its board of directors.
Mr Tait is currently chief information officer at the firm, a role he has held since 2010.
He joined James Hay, a corporate member of the Institute of Financial Planning, from Abbey Independent Consulting Group.
In 2010, Mr Tait led the separation between James Hay and Santander Private Bank and implemented improved administration and online tools.
Since the merger he has implemented upgrades such as web-based performance reporting, model portfolios, online adviser registration and online adviser charging.

Alastair Conway, chief executive of James Hay, said the move indicated how valuable technology was to the firm.
