Ed Carey appointed as managing director of City Trustees
Mr Carey has almost 20 years experience in the financial services sector including 12 years at Cofunds as director of regional accounts. He previously worked for Legg Mason and Invesco Fund Managers.
He will be involved in the rebranding of the business to become a more platform-based service for IFA connections. This is likely to take place in 2014.
His appointment follows the firm's recent acquisition of Ashcourt Rowan pension book and appointment to run the HD Sipp.

Murray Smith, sales and marketing director at City Trustees, said: "We are delighted to welcome Ed to the Group. His knowledge and experience will be essential in assisting us to drive forward City Trustees.
"Ed will be tasked with the growth of the business, further developing our intermediary proposition and widening the remit of services we offer to the market place. He is perfectly positioned to investigate the introduction of platform technology to enhance our offering."
Mr Carey said: "I am thrilled to join such a growing organisation, in which my initial focus will be to improve the interaction between City Trustees and its IFA connections. Part of this remit will be to create a sophisticated product offering and proposition to assist intermediaries in putting together investment propositions for their clients."
