Claire Trott is leaving Suffolk Life to join rival Talbot & Muir as head of technical support from 5 December.
Ms Trott has worked at Suffolk Life for a number of years and has been a regular writer on Sipps and other pensions issues.
A spokesman for Talbot & Muir said: "We are delighted with Claire's appointment which will greatly enhance the support that we provide to advisers and their staff.
"Claire will be speaking at a number of events throughout next year and will be issuing regular technical bulletins to our adviser database."
